Al Massey

Al Massey is Executive Relations Manager with Prison Entrepreneurship Program in Houston responsible for coordinating monthly events at the Oliver J. Bell Unit (Cleveland) and recruiting prospective volunteers and supporters through meetings and public speaking engagements. Al graduated from the University of Houston and worked over 35 years Management Experience in the Transportation Industry.

He has been with PEP since 2008 and is a Graduate of the Program. Al went to prison at age of 55 for Intoxication Manslaughter and served 5 years and 4 months on a six year sentence. He went to work with PEP after release and has worked as In-prison Manager, Re-entry Manager and Executive Relations Manager. Presently he has started 3 new businesses while working for PEP (Chemical Bioteck Solutions, Bio Clean USA and Permian Chemical Solutions), He is also in the Process of opening a restaurant in Katy TX named Lettuce Eat.

We are one of the only programs that works with our participants on both the inside and out and gives them a true Fresh Start. PEP provides inmates one-on-one training with executive volunteers to develop values-based business skills offering a “fresh start” to reformed inmates. This program offers these skills so that once they are released back in society they have the tools, skills and support structure to pursue healthy, fulfilling and productive lives. Our recidivism rate is less than 7% and we have 100% employment within 90 days.
